The D-40 Standard manifests vintage charm with timeless appointments such as a tortoiseshell celluloid pickguard, white ABS binding, and Guild’s peak logo inlay on the headstock.
Scalloped Adirondack Spruce Bracing
Guild adds forward-shifted scalloped Adirondack bracing for power, nuance and responsiveness. Combined with a Sitka Spruce top and African Mahogany back and sides, this bracing provides a punchy tone with smooth top end.
Indian Rosewood Fingerboard and Bridge
An Indian Rosewood fingerboard caps the comfortable C-profile Mahogany neck. Premium materials such as an Indian Rosewood bridge, 20:1 open-gear tuners, and a hand-cut bone nut and saddle finish off the D-40 Standard.

In addition to the classic Natural finish, Guild’s new 40 Standard Series debuts the new Pacific Sunset Burst. Inspired by Guild’s Southern California home, this new finish embodies casual elegance with a subtle edge burst. Each D-40 Standard ships with a Guild archtop wood case with built-in Humicase® humidification system.
